Job Summary
Under the direction of the Medical Director and Director of Medical Imaging, performs radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Operates radiography equipment to produce radiographic images of the body according to departmental protocols, ensuring optimal diagnostic imaging quality and safe patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes. Shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including SBHD organizational standards, policies, and procedures. He/she maintains a strong commitment to outstanding patient care, thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment; and is a team player who honors others with mutual respect, courtesy, and personal accountability.

Responsibilities

•    Follows departmental procedures for completing exams, including correct positioning, equipment utilization, and image retention.
•    Establishes and maintains a positive relationship with all customers.
•    Applies radiation protection skills.
•    Works effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of comprehensive quality care to all patients.
•    Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, and TJC regulations related to the Department, and as appropriate, the hospital. 
•    Consistently performs duties independently with minimum supervision.
•    Operates equipment and safely performs job-related duties.  Maintains a clean/safe work environment
•    Adheres to all department procedure protocols.
•    Performs all radiographic procedures with a sound understanding of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and technical factors to produce quality diagnostic images. 
•    Assures that the proper examination is performed on the correct patient and understands the clinical reason the exam is being performed. 
•    Demonstrates professional demeanor and ability to triage multiple requests and asks for assistance when appropriate. 
•    Gathers appropriate clinical information for each examination, assuring that safe care is delivered. 
•    Consistently performing in a manner that enhances customer service and approaches work with the attitude that quality can always be improved. 
•    Must demonstrate and maintain competency in all aspects of duties, including in the designated specialty. 
•    Perform other duties as assigned or requested professionally. 

Required Skills/Abilities:
A Radiologic Technologist I is for an employee who has his/her ARRT credential in radiograph, Radiology Technologist certificate/permit from CDPH, California venipuncture certification, and Fluoroscopy certificate/permit from CDPH. The radiologic technologist must demonstrate and maintain competency in all areas.
Qualifications:
•    Current Radiology Technologist certificate/permit from CDPH
•    Current Fluoroscopy certificate/permit from CDPH
•    Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider Course
•    Current California State Venipuncture Certificate
•    Current registration in Radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-ARRT (R)
Language Skills:
•    Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. 
•    Additional languages preferred. 
Skills:
•    Radiology requires precise and accurate performance, sometimes under pressured conditions. 
•    Operates radiology/fluoroscopy equipment to produce images of the body according to departmental protocols, ensuring optimal diagnostic imaging quality and safe patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.
•    Provide patient care services and technical skills, as well as a strong working knowledge of anatomy and pathology pertaining to radiological imaging.
•    Demonstrates awareness of radiation safety principles, Joint Commission requirements, and all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
•    Consistently performing in a manner that enhances customer service and approaches work with the attitude that quality can always be improved.

Education (Minimum Preferred) 

  • Graduate of AMA-approved school of radiologic technology, Associates of Science 
  • Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved school. Bachelor of Science in Radiography.

Work Experience

  • Graduate of accredited Radiography Technology school, no experience required. 

Licenses & Certifications  

 •    Current Basic Life Support (CPR-BLS) 
•    Current California State Radiology Technologist certificate from California Department of Public Health, Radiology Health Branch (CDPH RHB-CRT). 
•    Current or obtain within 6 months of hire a California State Fluoro Permit from the California Department of Public Health, Radiology Health Branch (CDPH RHB- CRT Fluoro). 
•    Current California State Venipuncture Certificate 
•    Current registration in Radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (R)). 

Job Type: Full-time, Variable Shifts

Pay: $58.00 - $62.00 per hour
